On a challenging triangular site, creating a building with significant visual interest while presenting a unique urban hotel experience was a central aim of the project, with each side of the building responding to different environmental conditions. Three glass volumes surround the site and reach different heights.
Previously, the project site was an abandoned gas station that was neither convenient nor safe for pedestrians traveling between Brookline and Boston. The hotel’s design concept focuses on integrating with the surrounding environment. Its stepped massing responds to the unique urban context at the edge of Brookline, Boston’s medical district. Each side of the building has been carefully designed to interact with its surroundings in a different way, creating architectural features that both blend in and stand out.
